About The Bishop Kelly Foundation
The non-profit Bishop Kelly Foundation was created more than 40 years ago to support the values and objectives of Bishop Kelly High School. The Foundation’s principal goal has been to provide funding — for scholarships and operations — that will keep Bishop Kelly’s standards and quality at the highest level.
For the 2018-2019 school year, the Foundation will provide more than $507,000 to support the school via an unrestricted grant, currently used by the school as part of its operating budget, which benefits all families. These funds were derived from the proceeds of the Foundation’s annual fundraiser, the Winner’s Choice dinner and auction and revenue from the endowment fund, which currently is valued at over $10,500,000. In addition, the Foundation will provide over $530,000 in need-based financial aid to students at Bishop Kelly for the 2018-2019 school year. This aid comes from gifts and memorials to our various scholarship funds, revenue from endowed scholarships, and from donations made during the Fund-A-Scholar portion of the Winner’s Choice Auction.
Your Donations to the Foundation
The sole beneficiary of the Bishop Kelly Foundation is Bishop Kelly High School. By contributing to the Bishop Kelly Foundation, you are directly benefitting the school.
All unrestricted gifts to the BK Foundation are designated to the general endowment fund. This fund provides annual revenue to the school in perpetuity through the annual grant mentioned above.
Gifts may also be restricted to our general scholarship endowment or to any of our named scholarship funds (see “Scholarship” page of this website). Like the general endowment fund, this provides annual tuition-assistance revenue to Bishop Kelly for students who would otherwise be unable to attend.
Any gifts to the Foundation made through the annual Winner’s Choice Dinner and Auction are given directly to Bishop Kelly High School, and are not designated for any endowed funds.
